Introducing the Officer Media Group Editorial Advisory Board
It is with great pleasure that we announce the formation of our Editorial Advisory Board (EAB). Having held our first quarterly meeting in March, we look forward to the guidance and inputs from the EAB in the coming years. Some of the EAB members have long been associated with OFFICER Magazine and Officer.com while others have interacted with us within the industry. Here they are:
Chief William Harvey (ret)
William L. "Bill" Harvey is a U.S. Army Military Police Corps veteran. He has a BA in criminology from St. Leo University and is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute of the University of Louisville (103rd AOC). Harvey served for over 23 years with the Savannah Police Department in Georgia in field operations, investigations and completed his career as the director of training. Served as the chief of police of the Lebanon City Police Department in Pennsylvania for over seven years and then 10 years as Chief of Police for the Ephrata Police Department in Pennsylvania. He continues to publish for professional periodicals and train. He is on the advisory board of the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association.
Sgt. Rich Nance (ret)
Richard Nance is lifelong martial artist and recently retired police sergeant. During his 25-year career, Nance was a SWAT Team Leader and Defensive Tactics Program Supervisor. He’s taught firearms, active shooter response, TASER, less-lethal munitions, impact weapons, and Emergency Vehicle Operations. His company, WARTAC Combatives, delivers unarmed and firearms integration training to law enforcement and private citizens. In addition to authoring his best-selling book, gunFIGHT, Richard is the Technology Editor of Guns & Ammo Magazine and the Self-Defense Editor of Handguns Magazine, as well as a frequent contributor to Outdoor Sportsman Group’s Special Interest Publication Division.
Cpl. Ian Webster
Ian Webster is a county police officer in Maryland. In his 15-plus years of service, he has been active in training programs and equipment trials. He is a department firearms instructor, active shooter instructor, patrol shield operator and is assigned to a team tasked with targeted enforcement in the region's hot spots. Webster is an avid shooter and is constantly on the hunt for gear that will make officers lives easier and their job performance more effective.
Deputy Tom Perroni
Tom Perroni is the current Owner and Training Director for the Commonwealth Criminal Justice Academy. He has worked as a Contract State Department Medic and Instructor. He is a current law enforcement officer with several years of service. He is a current SWAT/Tactical Medical Instructor. He is a Medical Instructor Trainer in many areas of medicine to include ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, TCCC, Emergency Medical Technician as well as Critical Care medicine. Perroni has 15 Years CONUS/OCONUS Contract Medic. He has over 30 years of operational experience in executive protection, law enforcement, SWAT, emergency medical care and other public safety roles. He has been an instructor for various disciplines for over 30 years, 15 of them as a firearms instructor.
Laura Burgess
Laura Burgess, M.B.A. is the owner of Laura Burgess Marketing, a public relations and marketing firm in the shooting sports, law enforcement, military and outdoor markets. With over a decade of experience on the firearms corporate manufacturing side and twenty-years as a PR firm representing innovative start-ups, industry-veteran companies both big and small, and distribution and retail companies. Burgess has also served on the board of the National Association of Police Equipment Distributors. Jason Meyer
Jason Meyer is the Director of the Public Safety Division of Team One Network, LLC. Meyer has spent the past 11 years in the police fleet industry. He started the T1N’s Public Safety Division in November of 2014. Their group focuses on meeting the needs of law enforcement agencies across the Mid-Atlantic Region. Jason is actively involved in new product development for multiple manufacturers . Accomplishments over the years include Sales Rep of the Year and Rep Group of the Year (3 times in the past 6 years).
