Officer Down: Border Patrol Agent Alejandro Flores-Bañuelos

CALIFORNIA-Agent Alejandro Flores-Bañuelos of the U. S. Border Patrol, died  March 15, 2021,  when he was struck by a passing vehicle while  assisting a crash. 

He responded to a crash on Route 86 and was assisting a 75-year-old woman whose vehicle had become disabled in the roadway. The weather conditions were windy and dusty making visibility on the highway low. Another vehicle struck Agent Alejandro Flores-Bañuelos and the woman's car. 

A deputy from Imperial County soon arrived, rendered aid to Agent Alejandro Flores-Bañuelos and called for back up. The agent was then transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The 75-year-old woman was also hospitalized with injuries as well. 

Agent Alejandro Flores-Bañuelos was with the U. S. Border Patrol for 12 years and leaves behind his wife and children.
