Officer Down: Lance Corporal Melton Gore

SOUTH CAROLINA-On Tuesday South Carolina experienced another officer death. Lance Corporal Melton Gore was on duty moving debris out of the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle and killed. 

As of now the South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. L/CPL Gore is the second officer to be killed in the line of duty for the area in just a few weeks.

L/CPL Gore was an Environmental Officer and handled litter complaints and animal calls. He was with the Horry County Police Department for 20 years. He had the nickname, "Fox", and was known for his cooking.
