FLORIDA- Master Corporal Brian LaVigne died Monday evening while pursing a suspect. The suspect who was actively fleeing deputies intentionally crashed into LaVigne's patrol car at a high rate of speed. Deputies tired to work on him at the scene but he succumbed to his injuries.
The call began at a local apartment complex where neighbors report a man acting erratically. Officers responded and the suspect fled the premises in a vehicle.
Master Corporal LaVigne was only 54 years old and was due to retire after one more shift, following 30 years of service.
