N.M. Police Gave Caller Option to Shoot

Martin Martinez wanted help keeping his daughter's boyfriend from harassing him at his home and called 911 to get advice. A state police officer gave him several options, including shooting the boyfriend if he was threatened. Less than an hour later, Martinez shot and killed the man, 33-year-old Marcos Atencio.
