ACLU Gives Vegas Cops Qualified Thumbs Up

June 6, 2012
The American Civil Liberties Union gives metro's move to release reports for officer involved shootings a thumbs up. The executive director of the ACLU, Dane Claussen tells us they give credit to Sheriff Doug Gillespie for making this move. The sheriff announced yesterday they would start making the reports available after the district attorney files his opinion on each case. This comes as the Clark County District Attorney's office releases a new report looking into a police shooting on new year's day in 2011. DA Steve Wolfson says the North Las Vegas officers involved in Fernando Sauceda's death acted lawfully.
