Springfield Armory XD / XDM Pistols DVD

Oct. 11, 2011

The Reese family rescued the Springfield Armory name and philosophy in 1974 and continue to develop products that are loyal to Springfield’s heritage while ensuring the Armory’s place in the progression of American firearms. Now, the American Gunsmithing Institute has a new DVD release on the Springfield Armory XD / XDM Pistols.

In this DVD, AGI Instructor Bob Dunlap works his way with the viewer through the new Springfield XD series of Semi-Auto pistols.  As usual, Dunlap uses a cut-away gun to explain and demonstrate the design and operation of the gun. He also tells you why it appears that the original designer is a European Gun Guy, not an American engineer, and why in this case, that’s good.

Among the items covered are:

  • History
  • Design & Function using a Cutaway pistol
  • Disassembly
  • Cleaning & Lubrication
  • Reassembly
  • Final Thoughts on the Gun

This video is a valuable addition to any Springfield XD/ XDM owner’s library. It’s full of visual demonstrations and explanations; viewers will learn something new about their Springfield XD / XDM each time.
