Command Centers for public safety

Jan. 6, 2011

Panasonic Solutions Company worked with partner Activu Corporation to deliver state-of-the-art command centers for public safety agencies. These command centers merge the most reliable hardware and intuitive software to enable public safety officials to focus on protecting their communities.

Agencies deploying a Panasonic and Activu command center can instantaneously share practically any information (video, text, images and applications) between multiple locations using Activu software running on rugged Panasonic Toughbook computers and displayed on Panasonic professional plasmas and LCDs. This technology offers a rich, interactive user experience that allows for more timely and informed decision making.  Panasonic combines the most rugged mobile computer on the market with durable and innovative displays to create an ideal solution for public safety officials.

Activu software is integrated into a Multi-Level System (MLS) network in order to produce a protected and regulated environment in multiple sites and locations for its users.  Its IP-based approach allows the technology to be integrated into agencies’ existing networks, allowing officials to pull critical data from network sources and share them within and outside of the command center.

The solution also provides a cost-effective means to add new first responder operators, displays, locations and information sources.  This provides organizations with the means to develop and change demands, while avoiding unnecessary expenses and constraints.
