Spillman Data Sharing Solutions allow for real-time data flow throughout all agency divisions, and for the linking of key agencies within the state as well, says Carrie Brown, marketing communications supervisor for the Salt Lake City, Utah, company.
The system allows intra-agency data sharing, which is achieved by connecting departments via integrated modules, seamlessly providing immediate access to a broad spectrum of information, such as records, law incidents, names, vehicles, property and digital images. Information also can be exchanged with fire, dispatch, EMS and corrections.
Multi-jurisdictional data sharing increases officer safety, expands investigations and strengthens collaboration among regional agencies, says Brown. Sensitive information is protected through user-defined security privileges and 192-bit encryption. Two types are offered; single database sharing (the host agency stores the Spillman server at its location, the other agencies use a designated segment of the server to store data); and multiple databases (Spillman’s InSight product allows agency to connect to other databases in real time. Multiple agencies can participate, even those with disparate software systems).
