    From SafetyTech International, the C420 PAPR is ideal for decontamination teams and hazmat response and cleanup. The events of 9/11 demonstrated clearly that traditional respiratory protection equipment in the form of industrial gas masks and filters were not suitable and often discarded by those performing labor intensive rescue, recovery, decontamination and clean up tasks. Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPRs) increase comfort, extend mission endurance and significantly improve protection factor. Ambient air is pulled in thru two NBC-rated filters supplying a constant 4 cfm of purified air to the facepiece. The positive pressure system improves protection factor by more than 5 times. Batteries can be hot-swapped if needed although the standard LiSO2 battery will run for a full 8 hours.
