    Raytheon JPS Communications has extended its line of radio interoperability products to include support for wide area interoperability systems (WAIS). Designated the WAIS Controller, this software product is designed to seamlessly connect JPS interoperability systems over local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN) or the Internet. This enables users of JPS' ACU-1000 interoperability modules to interconnect between other JPS modules to create WAIS networks such as statewide interoperability systems. The WAIS Controller uses Voice Over IP (VoIP) technology to interconnect radio users in widely separated areas. From any point on the network a user may configure, control and monitor any of the ACU-1000 units in the system.
