National Bike Registry

National Bike Registry (NBR), the only national bicycle registration database, helps police identify and return bikes since 1984. NBR provides proof of ownership and can confirm bike theft within minutes of apprehending a suspect or finding a bike. Free, 24/7 password-protected access is available to police departments nationwide. Bikes are identified by serial number and/or NBR ID label, with corresponding record in NBR's secure database. Local and university police departments can enhance community service by offering NBR coverage at special discounted prices. NBR provides free educational materials and media support. McGruff the Crime Dog recognizes NBR as the official property registration and return service of the National Crime Prevention Council.
