San Diego Police Department

Mattman Specialty Vehilces has designed a custom tactical command truck for the San Diego Police Department SWAT Division. The unit is based on a Freightliner MT-55 commercial truck chassis, with a 26 foot load space aluminum body. It is a completely self contained mobile unit with a diesel generator for electric power. The interior features storage compartments for equipment and a weapons locker. Also included is an electronics cabinet that houses the communications equipment. A video link allows for real-time images to be sent from police department helicopters to the SWAT team. On the exterior of the unit is a large monitor and workstation that allows the officers to work outside the vehicle.
