Vehicle for Pinellas County Florida Sheriff's Office

A new mobile crime lab designed and manufactured by LDV was delivered to the Pinellas County (Florida) Sheriff's Department. This lab, designed for deployment at crime scenes, is equipped with the latest technology to help immediately identify and catalog evidence. The vehicle features a cyanoacrylate fuming chamber with humidity carbon filtering and microprocessor controls, which will allow fingerprints to be processed, photographed and emailed, on site. A ducted fume hood, constructed of a controuted, one-piece, seamless 3/16-inch shatterproof acrylic, contains noxious chemicals. The Pinnelas County mobile crime lab is built on a 30,000-pound BVWR Freightliner MT-55 chassis powered by a Cummins tubo-charged diesel engine. It also features an Allison 2500EVS heavy-duty five-speed automatic transmission and an air-ride suspension.
