National Criminal Justice Officer Selection Inventory

Aug. 20, 2007
The National Criminal Justice Officer Selection Inventory (NCJOSI) is an alternative to conventional law enforcement officer written entrance examinations. It includes both a cognitive (i.e. reading comprehension, writing and basic math ability) component and a criminal justice officer orientation (i.e. attitude, personality and motivation) component. Including a personality/attitude component on entry-level exams increases predictive validity while reducing adverse impact against protected classes of individuals. This exam from I/O Solutions measures both what an individual is capable of doing (cognitive ability) and what an individual will do (attitude, personality and motivation). The NCJOSI was designed specifically to predict success for Criminal Justice officer positions as well as to be in strict compliance with all federal, state and local testing guidelines and regulations.
