Firearm Retracting Tethers are the latest addition to Hammerhead Industries' GearKeeper lineup. Compact, rugged and reliable, these spring-loaded, self-retracting security systems for both sidearms and shoulder arms prevent loss of weapons during tactical situations. The sidearm models mount securely to the wearer's duty belt. The long tether (which connects the weapon to the retractor) provides a full arm's reach when using the sidearm. The break-rating ranges from 60 to 80 pounds enough for security, but not enough to keep the used from getting snarled should the tether get caught. The Rifle Tether provides a way to allow full use of the rifle while also allowing the weapon to be dropped and tethered. It is ideal with the officer needs to quickly switch to a sidearm without losing the rifle.
