Stations of Robotic Monitoring (STORM) System

Aug. 20, 2007
The Stations of Robotic Monitoring (STORM) can be towed by conventional light-duty trucks to any remote location, where it can conduct rapid analysis of biological threat agents, pathogens and toxins. By its very nature, the STORM, from Edgewood Chemical Biological Center, can respond quickly to any incident (such as a terrorist attack), and test for seven unique threat agents simultaneously, thus drastically cutting the time it takes for emergency officials to respond appropriately. When staffed with two technicians, the STORM can process approximately 150 samples per day.
