Following MCSA’s annual summer conference, Mr. David Weisz has been named the new Executive Director of the Major County Sheriffs of America. Coinciding with membership growth, political footprint and future strategic planning, Mr. Weisz will serve as the Association’s first full-time Executive Director.
“The MCSA is recognized as one of the most respected law enforcement associations in America,” said MCSA President Sandra Hutchens. “As we continue to grow and tackle the new challenges in policing, homeland security and corrections, we searched for an individual who could help the MCSA continue to lead the nation in the progressive law enforcement leadership necessary to ensure our communities are safe.
Weisz will bring a strong business background to the MCSA and his past experience and leadership on public safety issues will be of immense benefit to our members. His strong relationships within law enforcement and with government officials will ensure the MCSA remains engaged and at the forefront of developing issues. Dave Weisz is not only hardworking and thoughtful, but he has personally dedicated himself to the public safety mission – in 2014 he was awarded the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund Lifetime Achievement Award.
