Newly released dashcam video shows a Ohio Highway Patrol trooper help pull a man to safety from a burning car just moments before it explodes.
Trooper Donte' Hanns responded to a crash in which Ford Mustang pulled into the path of a Dodge Durango and was T-boned on the Route 20 bypass east of Fremont at County Road 198 on Nov. 9, according to WTVG.
Havlin, a registered nurse, stopped after driving by the scene and ran to check on the driver of the Mustang who was trapped.
"I was assessing him, feeling his legs, see if he could, you know, have any sensation in his legs," she told the news station.
Hanns arrived moments later, just after the caught fire.
According to Lt. Matt Meredith, Hanns ran to the passenger side of the vehicle and used his extendable baton to break the window and set the driver free.
The trooper grabbed the man's shoulders and Havlin wedged his legs out.
Just seconds later as the two led the man to safety, the car exploded behind them.
"Trooper Hanns was in the right place at the right time. He used his training and basically put himself in harm's way to help save somebody else's life," Meredith said.
The driver, identified as 21-year-old Jose Gonzalez, was cited for Driving Under the Influence.
