Conn. Police Officer Seriously Injured Trying to Stop ATV Riders

A New Haven police officer suffered a serious leg injury when an ATV struck his cruiser as the officer was trying to stop a group of riders, who fled the scene.

A police officer was seriously injured in New Haven on Sunday while trying to stop a group of ATV riders, police said.

The officer suffered a serious leg injury after one of the riders struck his cruiser in the area of Ferry and Peck Streets, according to the New Haven Police Department.

The group of riders fled following the crash, police said.

Police said they have a suspect in the collision and have released a photo of her to the public.
