While responding to a vehicle fire in a parking lot, a San Antonio police officer found a woman still trapped inside the burning car, and the officer's body camera captured the dramatic rescue.

Dramatic body camera footage captured a San Antonio police officer fighting through flames to pull a woman from a burning car last week.

The incident happened at a parking lot in the early hours of Jan. 13, the San Antonio Police Department stated in a social media update. Officer Bianca Garcia was dispatched to the location after a report of a vehicle fire.

When she reached the scene, Garcia found a woman trapped inside the burning car. She quickly donned gloves and began prying open the passenger side door, but it wouldn't budge.

Garcia moved to the car's driver's side and tried to pull out the woman as the flames continued to spread. Two other officers eventually arrived at the scene and helped her with the rescue.

"You can always count on San Antonio Police to respond in any way we know how," the department stated.
