CoolShieldTM, a venting, wicking shirt worn under ballistic armor, has been awarded Member Tested and Recommended status by the members of the National Tactical Officers Association, a leading law enforcement officers’ organization that has more than 40,000 members nationwide.
NTOA’s Member Tested and Recommended Program runs real-world tests with active-duty tactical officers. It is a leading hallmark of functionality and quality in law enforcement gear and it is important to departments’ purchasing decisions. The NTOA member officers who tested CoolShield shirts wore them several times in a variety of on- and off-duty situations at locations across the United States.

CoolShield (US Patent # 8756718 B2) was previously certified by an independent, NIJ-accredited ballistic lab to meet National Institute of Justice standards for backface deflection when worn with certified Level II-A armor.
CoolShield features elongated, vertical ribs in front and back. It is made to be worn under armor, in place of a normal t-shirt. CoolShield’s flexible, lightweight rib material creates spaces between vest and skin that promote ventilation, moisture transfer, and temperature regulation with standard or external carriers.
