Florida Deputy Injured in Crash With Deer

A Walton County Sheriff's Office deputy was injured early Friday morning when a large buck ran out in front of her car near the intersection of U.S. Highway 98 and West Hewitt Road.

A Walton County Sheriff's Office deputy was injured early Friday morning when a large buck ran out in front of her car near the intersection of U.S. Highway 98 and West Hewitt Road.

The accident happened at about 3 a.m., according to WCSO Spokeswoman Corey Dobridnia.

The impact caused airbags to deploy and Deputy Alysha Dossey was taken to the hospital for injuries related to the deployment. She has already been released, Dobridnia said.

The deer was killed in the collision.
