Border Patrol Agent Suffers Fatal Heat Attack

U.S. Border Patrol Agent David Gomez suffered a fatal heart attack while on bike patrol in El Paso, Texas on Nov. 15.

A U.S. Border Patrol Agent suffered a fatal heart attack while on bike patrol in El Paso, Texas on Nov. 15.

Agent David Gomez and several other agents were riding on McKelligan Canyon Road on Nov. 14 when he became ill and fell from his bike, according to The Officer Down Memorial Page.

The other agents immediately began CPR and continued lifesaving efforts until paramedics arrived on the scene.

The 44-year-old agent was transported to a local hospital where he was kept on life support until he was pronounced dead the following day.

The 20-year veteran of the Border Patrol is survived by his wife, three children, parents, and two brothers.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
