An Indianapolis police station was shot at Thursday night, less than two weeks after someone opened fire on another police station in the city.

Police Chief Troy Riggs said that investigators believe that the same person or persons who fired shots at the Northwest District Headquarters on Oct. 5 is responsible for Thursday night's shooting at the North District Headquarters, according to WRTV.

"We believe he will continue these types of violence until he is captured," Riggs said, adding that no evidence will be released at this time. "Quite frankly, there's little evidence. We need to keep that close to our vest."

None of the police officers who were inside the building at the time of the shooting were injured. The officers at the station attempted to find the suspect, but were unsucessfull.

The North District Headquarters, which is located on East 30th Street near Washington Park, sustained wall and window damage in the shooting.

Offiicals are urging for anyone with information to come forward.

"We believe that someone in the community or individuals in the community know who's responsible," Riggs said. "We need them to give us a call before this individual strikes someone with this weapon."

The Indianapolis Fraternal Order of Police Lodge released the following statement Friday morning:

Last night our city was shaken again by an intentional and violent attack upon our police. We are seeing an ever increasing rate of violence upon our law enforcement officers (on and off duty).

This summer the Indianapolis FOP issued a public Call to Action to provide enhanced protective equipment for the safety of our officers.

We strongly encourage our city leaders to respond and quickly take assertive action to protect our police officers and our law enforcement facilities.

In the interim, we ask residents of Indianapolis to continue their support of our police officers and encourage our elected officials to act.

Please pray for our police.
