Suspect Arrested in West Virginia Slayings

Erick Shute, the suspect in a triple slaying in Great Cacapon, was arrested in Pennsylvania following an 8-hour manhunt Monday.

The suspect in a triple slaying in Great Cacapon, West Virginia was arrested in Pennsylvania following an 8-hour manhunt Monday.

Pennsylvania State Police confirmed that 32-year-old Erick Shute was taken into custody after he allegedly shot and killed Jack Douglas, Travis Bartley and Willie Bartley with a .223 caliber rifle, accoridng to The Morgan Messenger.

Morgan County Sheriff's Sgt. Seth Place told reporters that police were called to the scene of the fatal shooting along Gamble Lane off Detour Road around 4:30 p.m.

Police agencies from around the region were searching for Shute, who was reportedly travling in a white pickup truck with a dump bed.

West Virginia State Police, local sheriff's departments and the Maryland State Police helicopter search unit were joined by law enforcement across the region in order to locate the suspect.
