Delaware Police K-9 Locates Missing Boy

A New Castle County, Delaware police dog located a missing 11-year-old following a search Sunday afternoon.

Officers responded to Highland Boulevard in the Sophia's Place West community after receiving a report of a missing juvenile around 2:50 p.m., according to a department news release.

The woman who made the report told police that her son had fled the residence on foot after an argument and was unable to be located.

Officer C. Carter and and K-9 Ax responded to the scene to help in the search for the boy. Ax obtained a scent from the front of the residence and tracked for approximately a half-mile until officers observed the child.

The boy was located in a good health and was returned home.
