Illinois Police Officer Dies While On Duty

A Glenview, Ill. police officer died after suffering a medical emergency while on duty on Dec. 6.

Officer Owen Masterton, 42, was in a roll call at the police station when he became unresponsive, according to Journal & Topics.

The 19-year veteran of the force was transported to Glenbrook Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy was conducted Sunday to determine the cause of death and a medical examiner’s spokesman said results are still pending.

Funeral Arrangements

Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12 at N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Rd. in Glenview.

A Funeral Mass is scheduled Saturday, Dec. 13 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 11 a.m. with private interment for family and law enforcement following at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
