A K-9 with the Ventress Correctional Facility in Dale County, Ala. died Monday night during a search for a suspect.

Tracker, a 5-year-old Beagle, was killed while chasing Billy Wayne Lomaneck, who was wanted in connection to a rape and incest case, according to WSFA-TV.

The K-9 ran Lomaneck out of a field toward Dale County Sheriff's deputies when a shootout occurred, fatally injuring the dog.
