Escaped Suspect Who Hit NYPD Officer Back in Custody

A drug suspect who escaped custody and struck an NYPD officer was arrested on Tuesday.

A drug suspect who escaped custody and struck an NYPD officer with a stolen vehicle in Queens was arrested on Tuesday.

Officials say that Bryan McMenamin, who was arrested for selling drugs, somehow fled with his hands cuffed behind his back and jumped into a at 59th Street and Cooper Avenue in Glendale around 7 p.m. Monday, according to WCBS-TV.

A narcotics officer who tried to jump in front of the vehicle to prevent McMenamin from getting away was struck and injured his leg. He was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

The vehicle was later found around Myrtle Avenue and Decatur Street.

After a manhunt, McMenamin was arrested in Manhattan a day after his escape.
