ROCK HILL, S.C. -- An off-duty deputy with the York County Sheriff's Office helped Rock Hill Police nab an alleged drunken driver Monday night.
The deputy was on Rawlinson Road at about 11:30 p.m. when she noticed a man driving a 2014 Ford pickup cross the center several times. She clocked the man going 67 mph in a 35 mph zone, according to a Rock Hill Police report.
The off-duty deputy activated the blue emergency lights of her patrol car and initiated a traffic stop. The pickup ran over a curb before pulling into a BP station parking lot.
The deputy handed over the investigation to Rock Hill police.
The 46-year-old man, who had glassy bloodshot eyes, told police he drank "about four beers" at Empire Pizza. He failed several field sobriety tests and was charged with driving under the influence, first offense, the report states.
