Weekend (April 25-27)

The Albuquerque Police Department will increase its crisis intervention training this year in an attempt to certify all field officers in the force.

Tuesday (April 29)

K-9 Jake was stabbed several times during the confrontation Saturday night with Chad Bogle, who died from gunshot wounds following an exchange of gunfire.
Rangers found a father and his two children who had been missing for more than two days in Congaree National Park in South Carolina.
J.R. Kimbler, his 10-year-old son, Dakota, and 6-year-old daughter, Jade got lost after taking to the trails on Saturday afternoon for what was intended to be a short hike.

Thursday (May 1)

Sgt. Patrick "Scott" Johnson and Trooper Gabriel "Gabe" Rich were both fatally shot and a suspect was taken into custody.
An apparent gas explosion rocked a Florida jail, killing two inmates and injuring as many as 150 people.
The Escambia County Jail was almost completely destroyed by the blast.
While hundreds of demonstrators marched in Seattle on May Day, a smaller group of masked protesters kept police busy at night.
Police said they arrested nine people during the evening protest.
Friday (May 2)
An Anaheim, Calif. police dog shot in the face during a confrontation with an armed suspect was set to go home after weeks of treatment.
