Mass. Motorcycle Officer Killed in Wreck

Plymouth Police Officer Gregg Maloney was traveling with another motorcycle officer before the wreck.

A Plymouth police officer was killed in a motorcycle crash Tuesday afternoon.

Officer Gregg Maloney, 43, was traveling with another motorcycle officer on Samoset Street around 2:15 p.m. when the wreck occurred, according to The Old Colony Memorial.

The 17-year veteran of the force was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess-Plymouth hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police Chief Michael Botieri told reporters that but it does not appear that the bikes touched each other and the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.

The State Police Accident Reconstruction Team is currently investigating the incident.

Maloney is survived by his wife and their two teenage sons.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
