Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting in San Francisco's Tenderloin that wounded eight people, police said Tuesday.
San Francisco residents Curtis Warren, 25, and Verle Jones, 24, were taken into custody in Emeryville on Monday afternoon, officials said.
They were booked into San Francisco County Jail on suspicion of eight counts each of attempted murder as well as aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy.
According to police, one of the men had gotten into an altercation with a group of people on Turk Street near Taylor Street at about 8:50 p.m. Sunday.
That man allegedly walked to a parked silver Volkswagen Jetta, where the other man sat in the driver's seat. Then, police said, one or both of the men fired into the crowd before they drove off.
The eight victims suffered gunshot wounds in their arms and legs and were treated and released from the hospital.
Police originally reported that seven people were wounded in the shooting, but said Tuesday that the number was actually eight.
