IOWA CITY, Iowa -- New video from the Johnson County Sheriff's Office shows a near disaster caught on camera when an airborne pickup truck nearly takes out two sheriff's deputies and a state trooper.

The crash was caught on camera by a Johnson County Sheriff's squad car camera. It happened Friday along Interstate 80 near Oxford.

The law officers were working on another crash when a semi struck the pick-up and sent it flying between the sheriff's deputy vehicle and a state patrol car.

The trooper was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released for minor injuries.

The semi driver did receive a citation for failure to maintain control.

Johnson County Sheriff Lonny Pulkrabek said the video is a prime example of why drivers need to slow down when approaching accident scenes.
