The Waynesboro Police Department is assisting in the investigation of a missing Nelson County man. Kevin Wayne Quick, 45, was reported missing to the Nelson County Sheriff's Office on Saturday evening. Quick left his mother's residence in Afton on Friday night to drive to a friend's home at Turtle Creek Apartments in Albemarle County, but he never made it.
Quick is a captain in the Waynesboro Police Department's Reserve Unit and has been a member since 1990.
The Virginia State Police are heading the investigation, with assistance also coming from the Nelson County Sheriff's Office, Albemarle County Police Department, and the Charlottesville Police Department.
VSP said late Sunday night that new information suggests foul play in his disappearance.
Photographs have been obtained that feature two unidentified adult males who investigators believe may have information regarding Quick's disappearance.
On Saturday and Sunday, local and state resources conducted ground and air searches of the areas around the Afton and Albemarle residences. Over the course of the ongoing investigation, law enforcement has received information that Quick may be in northern Virginia.
He was last seen driving a silver 1999 Toyota 4 Runner with Virginia license plates 614-068, which has the seal of the Commonwealth in the middle. He is described as a white male of medium build at 6'1" and weighing 200 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He also has a scar above his left eye and wears glasses or contacts.
Photographs placed his vehicle in Fork Union on Friday and in the Manassas area on Saturday.
