Oklahoma City Police Officer Wounded, Suspect Killed

An Oklahoma City police officer was wounded and a suspect was killed in a shootout Friday afternoon.

An Oklahoma City police officer was wounded and a suspect was killed in a shootout Friday afternoon.

Two officers attempted to interview a man around 12:30 p.m. at a 7-Eleven at 1100 NW 108 when man across the street, according to The Oklahoman.

They pursued the man on foot and one of the officers followed him behind a building when the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the officer.

The officer returned fire while he was falling down, killing the gunman.

Capt. Dexter Nelson told the newspaper that the officer was treated and released at a hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Homicide and internal affairs detectives are currently investigating the incident.
