Dashcam video has been released showing an incident in which a Michigan State Police trooper and a suspect fell from a highway overpass.

The trooper was chasing after the suspect who fled on foot from a vehicle following a pursuit the night of Nov. 1 in Saginaw County, according to The Saginaw News.

The trooper tried to pull over a vehicle for defective equipment on I-675 when the driver refused to pull over, setting off the chase.

Police used "stop sticks" to halt the suspect's vehicle and a Saginaw Township officer approaching the scene in his cruiser saw what happened next.

The suspect is seen standing on the guardrail of the overpass and the trooper can be seen running toward him. Both men are seen falling between 25 to 35 feet off the overpass.

The trooper has since been released from the hospital and is on paid leave and recovering at home.

Police could not provide additional information about the suspect's injuries.
