Pa. State Police Trooper Killed in Cruiser Crash

Sgt. John LaRose was killed in a collision with another vehicle while driving home on Monday.

A veteran Pennsylvania State Police trooper died Monday in a cruiser crash in Lumber Township.

Sgt. John LaRose was killed in a collision with another vehicle on Route 120 while driving home, according to Williamsport Sun-Gazette.

Officials say the 23-year veteran lost control of his Ford Crown Victoria on the wet roadway while rounding a curve before colliding with a Hyundai Tucson in the opposite lane.

He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The driver and passenger in the other vehicle suffered moderate injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

LaRose, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, spent 11 years flying in the state police's Aviation patrol unit before returning to the field.

He leaves behind a wife and four children.
