Solon Police Officer Steven Davis used his cruiser to block in the suspect, who then opened fire.

Dashcam video has been released in a fatal police shooting that occurred on March 17 in Ohio.

The Solon police officers involved in the incident have since been cleared of any wrongdoing during the St. Patrick's Day traffic stop that turned violent, according to WKYC-TV.

The incident began when Officer Steven Davis pulled over 22-year-old Kevin Bailey for a traffic violation shortly after 9:45 p.m. at the intersection of Bainbridge Road and Sunnywood Drive.

Davis reported smelling marijuana in the car and called for backup.

As he and another officer approached the vehicle, Bailey rolled up his window before speeding off.

The suspect blew out a tire after a short chase and Davis used his cruiser to block in his vehicle.

That's when Bailey began to open fire on the officers.

Davis returned fire through the windshield and hit Bailey in his head and shoulder, killing him.

The officer sustained a gunshot wound to his arm while another bullet struck his body armor and is expected to return to full duty this week.
