Colo. Deputy Shot During Domestic Violence Call

A Montrose County deputy was wounded after a suspect fired two rounds at him and other deputies.

A Montrose County deputy was shot Monday morning responding to a domestic violence call.

The unidentified deputy was wounded after a suspect fired two rounds at him and other deputies after they knocked on the door of the home, according to KMGH-TV.

Officials said the deputy is in surgery at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction.

Montrose County Sheriff Rick Dunlap said that they are unaware of the deputy's condition at this time.

Authorities are still working to apprehend the suspect.

The incident is currently under investigation.
