Troopers were investigating a death Tuesday at the home of longtime Danville, N.H., Police Chief Wade Parsons, New Hampshire State Police said.
Few details had been released since a police scanner report picked up late Monday indicated a 15-year-old sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach and was in distress at the house, The (North Andover, Mass.) Eagle-Tribune reported Tuesday.
"What happened in that house happened," State Police Lt. Christopher Vetter said, adding the police chief's home was "an active crime scene."
While police neither confirmed information about the shooting in Parson's home nor offered information about the victim, the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office dispatcher confirmed there was a shooting at the residence Monday, The Eagle-Tribune reported.
The newspaper said Parsons has been with the police department since 1985 and was elected chief in March 1995.
