LORAIN, Ohio — Police arrested a woman after a bizarre incident at the Lorain Central Fire Station, New Year’s Day.

They say a woman knocked on the door of the fire department asking for help. When they opened the door, they say she went on top of one of their fire trucks and refused to come down.

Several on-duty firefighters tried to get her down. They say she was gripping the water nozzle on the truck.

Police were called and also tried to get her to come down. They say she kept yelling at them to leave her alone.

Two officers finally pried her arms off the water nozzle and brought her down.

Police say there was a strong smell of alcohol coming from her and her speech was slurred.

Police identified her as Miranda Lewis. She was arrested and booked into the Lorain City Jail.

Lewis was charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication.

Firefighters say the truck Lewis was on, is an “in-service” vehicle, and if an emergency call would have come in, Lewis would have caused a big delay.
