Missouri Deputy Killed Assisting EMS Crew

Washington County Deputy Christopher Parsons had just helped to load a patient into the ambulance when they were ambushed.

The search is on in Washington County, Mo. Saturday after a man ambushed and killed a deputy who was helping an EMS crew.

Washington County Deputy Christopher Parsons, 31, was shot just as he helped load an uncounscious person into an ambulance, The Kansas City Star reported.

The incident occurred in Mineral Point, Mo., a small town with about 350 residents.

Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers identified the suspect as Gary Sancegrow of Mineral Point.

After he ambushed the crew, they said  Sancegrow fled on foot into a wooded area.

Police say he is considered armed and dangerous.

Parsons had been with the sheriff's office since October.
