A Louisiana deputy was killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon.
Natchitoches Parish Deputy Ricky Issac Jr. was in his 2008 Crown Victoria when it hydroplaned on a wet road during the rain, according to KALB.
The cruiser hydroplaned while entering a slight left curve and traveled off the roadway. It traveled down an embankment and struck several trees before coming to rest, troopers told reporters.
Issac, who was wearing his seat belt, was transported to a local hospital where he died.
In addition to working for the sheriff's office, Issac played football for Northwestern State University.
He is survived by his wife, who is expecting their first child.
