Deer Propelled Through Car in Georgia

Three people were hurt in the crash.

BLACKSHEAR - Three people were injured Thursday in a freak accident involving a car and a deer.and a church house, said the Georgia State Patrol.

When the car struck the deer, the animal was thrown up and through the windshield and momentum carried it through the car and out the back window, said Donna Dismuke, GSP Waycross post secretary.

The driver, KristieWilliams, 40, of Patterson, and her two passengers, CaitlinWilliams, 14, and Dillan Williams, 12, were taken by Pierce County EmergencyMedical Service ambulance to the Mayo Clinic Health System inWaycross for treatment of their injuries, which were mostly head injuries, said Dismuke.

Driving a 1997Mercury, Kristie Williams was northbound on Trudie Road when the deer entered her line of travel, said Dismuke. The deer jumped from the south ditch into the Mercury's path, said Dismuke.

The car continued northbound and struck the front wall and two support posts of Pine Grove Church, and ultimately hit a pecan tree and water supply faucet at 5320 Trudie Road, said Dismuke.

Trooper Toby Cameron investigated the 6:26 p.m. accident.
