Nov. 18--FORT WORTH -- A Fort Worth patrol officer suffered minor injuries early Sunday when his vehicle collided with another car at an intersection, police said.
The officer, who was not identified, was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.
Two suspects in the patrol car also suffered minor injuries. They had just been arrested on drug charges, and the officer was taking them to jail at the time of the wreck, said police Capt. Michael Baldwin.
The crash happened about midnight at Calmont Avenue and Las Vegas Trial.
The officer was northbound on Las Vegas Trail when a vehicle leaving a store drove south on the same street and then attempted to turn onto Calmont, Baldwin said.
"The officer managed to turn and avoided a head-on collision," Baldwin said.
Two adults and two children in the other car were treated at the scene, police said.
