Officers found burglary tools, weapons and a map with directions from Vallejo to Shelter Cove in the car after the rollover wreck.

Oct. 30--father and son killed last week in a rollover car crash in northern Mendocino County apparently were on their way to commit a burglary, possibly to steal marijuana, CHP officials said Monday.

Officers found burglary tools, weapons and a map with directions from Vallejo to Shelter Cove in the car after Thursday's rollover crash on northbound Highway 101, near Cummins Road, seven miles south of Leggett, CHP Officer Matthew Harvey said.

Vincent Jay Dodson, 21, and his father, Greg Saul Dodson, 44, both of Vallejo, died after the 2001 Infinity for some reason drifted off the road, hit an embankment and crashed at about 8:15 a.m., Harvey said

The driver, Dominic Troy Quilici, 20, of Crockett, survived with minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, Harvey said.

In the car, officers found three loaded handguns, bulletproof vests, explosives, duct tape and a ski mask, Harvey said. Two of the guns were stolen, he said.

Quilici was released Friday from jail after posting $200,000 bail, jail officials said.
