The woman crashed her car at the gate of the grounds of Walter Reed Hospital in Bethesda.

A woman chewing on a bar of soap led police on a high-speed pursuit in two states Tuesday before the incident ended near the Walter Reed National Medical Center in Bethesda, MD.

The pursuit started on I-66 in Virginia where officers reportedly clocked the car going well in excess of the posted limit, according to WRC.com.

Virginia police notified Maryland officers as the driver sped toward the beltway. The high-speed pursuit continued in Montgomery County.

The vehicle struck a security booth and another car at the NSAB’s north gate, and as officers tried to stop her, she fled again.

When she got caught in traffic, a Naval officer tried to approach the car on foot. However, authorities say she struck his cruiser, and then him. He fired a shot.

The chase ended when the woman’s car struck a fence in a construction area.

Video from a news crew showed the woman struggling and fighting the officers as they removed her from the car.
