Calif. Sheriff's Deputy Injured in Car Crash

A sheriff's deputy and the driver of another car were hurt in a Tuesday afternoon crash in San Jose.

SAN JOSE -- A sheriff's deputy and the driver of another car were hurt in a Tuesday afternoon crash, authorities said.

According to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened at 4:24 p.m. in the area of Blossom Hill Road and Winfield Boulevard in San Jose which is adjacent to Oakridge Mall.

The deputy was transported to the hospital as a precaution, while the female driver of the red Honda Accord that was involved had moderate injuries, according to Sgt. Jose Cardoza.

No more information about the crash was immediately available. San Jose police are handling the investigation.
